Taylor Swift Pulls Back the Curtain with The Life of a Showgirl

Taylor Swift is stepping into a fresh chapter. The 14 time Grammy winner will release her 12th studio album The Life of a Showgirl on October 3. She calls it energetic and completely different from anything she has done before.

The reveal came via New Heights, the podcast hosted by her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce.

The release date is well timed as it lands on National Boyfriend Day and falls in a week full of Kelce family birthdays including Travis on October 5, his niece on October 2, and his mother on October 9.

Produced by Swift, Max Martin and Shellback, the album runs just 12 tracks which makes it her shortest yet but promises to pack in everything she has been wanting to say. Titles include The Fate of Ophelia, Elizabeth Taylor, CANCELLED!, Father Figure, and Wi$h Li$t. The closing track shares the album’s title and is a duet with Sabrina Carpenter.

Swift wrote the record in the gaps of her European Eras Tour schedule with three nights on stage followed by three days off in which she worked in the studio. It is a soundtrack to the life she lived offstage with late nights, quick turnarounds and the thrill of keeping pace with a tour that became a cultural landmark.
