Baku didn’t just host a fashion week last week – it hosted a multi-sensory dialogue between heritage and hyper-technology. From November 28-30, the Azerbaijan Carpet Museum became the stunning centre of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Azerbaijan (MBFW), where woven history met AI-inflected design in the country’s largest fashion event to date.

Organized by the Azerbaijan Fashion Designers Association and Led.az Events, with Autocapital-Azerbaijan as strategic partner, Season 2 reaffirmed that Baku is no longer emerging – it’s arrived.
Held within the architecturally iconic Azerbaijan Carpet Museum, the venue was a statement. Ancient textile traditions visually conversed with collections from designers like Jemma Russo, Geotrend, Velibeyli, Viktoriya Varga, and Ajoure Atelier, where futuristic cuts, intelligent textiles, and bold material experiments dominated. Artificial intelligence made each show a standalone tech-art experience enhanced by light, sound, and dynamic graphics.

Beyond the main catwalk, temporary showrooms pulsed with local creativity: Narmeen Jewelry’s delicate craft, DODICI Organic’s astrology-inspired skincare, emerging talent from the Azerbaijan Fashion School, and boutique finds from You Lush and The Anjir 21.

For those seeking exclusivity, private appointments at the Four Seasons Hotel with acclaimed designer Katerina Kvit and London-based Kaushik Velendra offered an intimate look at standout collections.

Perhaps the week’s most unexpected twist came from LM Group, which presented a branded real estate concept featuring projects by Dolce & Gabbana and Missoni – proving fashion’s aesthetic reach now extends to architecture and living spaces.

Each day opened on a melodic note: Elnur Huseynov’s pop vocals, Wilson Alade’s smooth jazz, and an acrobatic performance by Talha Kavranoglu paired with Berkcan Demir’s DJ set. When the runway lights dimmed, the energy moved to Pacifico, where DJ Nicolas Mun, DJ Pancho, and Berkcan Demir soundtracked vibrant after-parties.

MBFW Azerbaijan acted as a magnet for brands across industries – from MAC and Braun to Savalan Wines, Absheron Hotel Group, and S Design – reflecting fashion’s expanding role in lifestyle and business. Media partners including L’Officiel Baltia, Elle Serbia, Baku Magazine, and ourselves, TheDiary, captured the dialogue.

The second season of MBFW Azerbaijan solidified its identity: a place where fashion operates as international dialogue, where technology and art are twin engines of the future, and where Baku cemented its place as a rising fashion capital.
