Emily Cooper is gearing up for another European adventure. Netflix has officially announced that the fifth season of Emily in Paris will premiere on December 18, releasing its first teaser along with the news. This time, Emily’s story unfolds across two cities—Paris and Rome. As series creator Darren Star revealed, the new season is a tale of two cities, and Emily will even make a stop in Venice.

In the teaser, Emily appears fully embracing la dolce vita, cruising through the canals of Venice and admiring Rome’s magnificent architecture.

As a reminder, the fourth season ended with Emily moving to Rome for work, where she takes charge of Agence Grateau’s new office. Meanwhile, she begins a new relationship with the Italian Marcello. Season four ranked first among Netflix’s top ten series, amassing 19.9 million views within its first four days and appearing in the top ten lists of 93 countries. Naturally, anticipation for season five is sky-high.

According to Lily Collins, who plays the titular role, the upcoming season will reveal a different side of Emily. “Marcello represents a completely new adventure for her. We wanted Emily to find a better balance between her personal and professional life, and to finally discover happiness,” said Collins.

But Emily’s past won’t be left behind in Paris. In the season four finale, her first Parisian love, Gabriel (played by Lucas Bravo), realizes that he still wants to be with her. The new season will reveal whether his realization came too late.
