Jason Momoa has never been one to shy away from making an entrance, but Venice wasn’t quite prepared for what washed ashore on Wednesday. The Aquaman actor, 46, stepped onto the red carpet for the premiere of In the Hand of Dante at the 2025 Venice International Film Festival dressed like… a strawberry milkshake with abs.
Head-to-toe pink. Not a hint of irony, not a trace of hesitation. A tailored bubblegum jacket and matching pants? Check. Matching pink Birkenstocks? Absolutely. And because subtlety is for mortals, he went all in, flashing freshly polished pink toenails as if they were the accessory of the season. Forget tuxedos and velvet loafers, this is 2025, and apparently Birkenstocks with a manicure are couture now.
Of course, Momoa documented the whole thing on Instagram Stories because if you wear pink sandals to Venice and don’t post about it, did it really happen? He’d just hopped off a six-hour flight from shooting the latest installment of Dune, looking every bit like a man who could defeat intergalactic enemies and still find time for a pedicure.
“I got my Birkenstocks and my ugly a-- feet, but they’re painted!”
The family hustle is real in House Momoa. His 16-year-old son, Nakoa-Wolf, is now on set as Leto II, offspring of Timothée Chalamet’s Paul Atreides and Zendaya’s Chani. Yes, Jason Momoa’s teenage kid is starring in Dune: Part Three, while Dad is reprising his fan-favorite Duncan Idaho role. This means two things: one, Hollywood is officially a family business; two, your teenage self who couldn’t even land a summer job should probably sit this one out.

So yes, Venice got a premiere, a pink carpet moment, and a crash course in what it looks like when Aquaman trades the trident for Birks. Shakespeare once asked, “Can one desire too much of a good thing?” To which Jason Momoa replies: “Only if it isn’t pink.”
